BPS stands for Broker Platform Systems and is a system than unifies processes across different sectors so that it becomes easier to exchange information. In essence things are more equal across the board. It's a level playing field. The idea of these servers being equal informed the designs for the BPS brand - three equals signs all aligned and level. Later versions have thicker strokes as feedback suggested there was legibility concerns. I think this however de-emphasises the equal signs - the core concept of the design, the whole raison d'etre.
